Egyptian luxury label Okhtein, renowned for its handcrafted, opulent designs, has launched its first Gulf outlet in Dubai. This milestone marks the beginning of the brand’s regional expansion, with a boutique set to open in Riyadh’s Kingdom Mall by early 2025.
Founded by sisters Aya and Mounaz Abdel Raouf, Okhtein integrates Middle Eastern craftsmanship with contemporary global fashion. Its signature elements, including gold plating and Swarovski embellishments, have earned it a devoted following among Gulf customers who appreciate intricate designs and bold luxury.
Aya described Dubai as the “fashion hub of the Middle East,” making it a strategic location for the brand’s first physical presence in the GCC. She highlighted the city’s accessibility and vibrant retail landscape as key factors in the decision.
The brand’s success extends globally, with celebrities such as Beyoncé, Halle Berry, and Gigi Hadid showcasing its designs. A standout moment for the sisters was Gigi Hadid’s social media posts featuring Okhtein bags, which the sisters said blended Arab heritage with international appeal.
The planned expansion into Saudi Arabia aligns with the Kingdom’s booming luxury market. Many Saudi clients, familiar with Okhtein from their visits to Egypt, are expected to embrace the new Riyadh store. Mounaz sees Saudi Arabia as a “natural next step,” citing the region’s strong demand for luxury goods and its growing influence in the fashion world.
Okhtein also continues to innovate through collaborations, such as its work with French luxury brand Balmain, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to global recognition while staying true to its Arab roots.
With this GCC expansion, Okhtein aims to further its mission of showcasing Arab luxury and artistry on a global stage.
