Oracle Red Bull Racing will honor its enduring partnership with Honda at the 2025 Formula 1 Japan Grand Prix by unveiling a special white-and-red tribute livery. This striking design is inspired by the Honda RA272 — the car that brought Honda its first Formula 1 victory in 1965.
The new livery marks 60 years since American driver Richie Ginther won the Mexico GP in the RA272. Featuring a bold Japanese flag motif, a prominent “H” logo on the nose, and vintage Honda branding on the rear wing, the design pays homage to this historic achievement. A custom 60th-anniversary logo will also appear across all four Red Bull cars on the grid that weekend.
A Memorable Farewell to a Successful Partnership
Christian Horner, Oracle Red Bull Racing CEO and Team Principal, described the tribute as a celebration of “the final year of a thoroughly enjoyable partnership.” Over the course of their collaboration, Honda-powered Red Bull cars have captured four Drivers’ Championships and two Constructors’ titles.
Koji Watanabe, President of Honda Racing Corporation, called the new livery “quite moving.” He emphasized that the bond between Honda and Red Bull will continue to shine in F1 history, even as their official partnership draws to a close.
More Than Just a Livery: A Weekend of Celebrations
This isn’t the first time Red Bull has switched to a white livery for Honda. In 2021, the team ran a fan-favorite design at the Turkey Grand Prix, which also honored the Japanese manufacturer.
To elevate the celebration, the Japan GP weekend will include a Tokyo city takeover and a historic Red Bull Showrun, giving fans a chance to connect with the team’s legacy and Honda’s impact on motorsport. These events will highlight not just the livery, but the story behind one of F1’s most memorable partnerships.
