After one week of exciting art events all around the French city, the inaugural iteration of Paris+ par Art Basel ended. 40,000 people attended the expo, well exceeding the capacity of the Grand Palais Éphémère.

A total of 40,000 people attended the exhibition over its VIP and open days, making it a spectacle that spanned well beyond the Grand Palais Éphémère.

Paris+ par Art Basel’s premiere attracted 156 galleries from 30 countries, including a lineup of galleries from Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, in addition to brisk sales and robust participation from international collectors and institutions.

The day-and-night art and cultural program included installations, public art, discussions, and performances across the whole city.

Clément Delépine, Director of Paris+ at Art Basel, said that this week “marks a genuine inflection moment for the arts community in France, one in which Paris’s cultural players joined together to jointly exhibit, on the world stage, the best of what the city has to offer.” The enthusiasm in the halls and around Paris is a monument to the city’s revitalized energy and the spirit of cooperation that made this inaugural edition’s unprecedented success possible.

The Galeries Émergentes segment of the first Paris+ par Art Basel includes Marfa’s contemporary art gallery from Beirut and was devoted to galleries showcasing young and emerging artists for 16 solo shows.

In the meantime, there is Miami Beach in December, Hong Kong in March, and of course, Basel in June before the following Paris+ par Art Basel, which is set for October 19–22, 2023.
