Developed and curated by Project22, the exhibition brings together The Wild Within by internationally renowned artist duo Ryan Koopmans and Alice Wexell and Beirut Balconies by UAE-based artist Chafic Mekawi, exploring architecture, memory, and perception across the UAE and Lebanon.

IN TIME is an exhibition about transformation — not as an event, but as a condition that quietly shapes how we see, remember, and inhabit space.

Architecture is often perceived as fixed — a structure that holds identity and time. Yet in reality, it is never still.

Koopmans and Wexell work with architectural sites across the Middle East, with a focus on the UAE. Through a process combining photography and digital construction, they transform villas, palaces, and abandoned spaces into living environments where nature re-enters and reshapes the built world through cycles of growth, decay, and renewal.

In contrast, Mekawi’s Beirut Balconies turns toward the city as a lived experience.  Rooted in Beirut, his work draws from personal and cultural connections and explores how memory, movement, and perception shape cities beyond their physical structures.

Together, the works form a dialogue between two ways of seeing: one shaped by environment and transformation, the other by memory and lived experience.

The exhibition unfolds in two stages: it begins with a curated presentation of physical and digital works, with selected pieces available for acquisition. Then the journey continues into an immersive space where the works expand through large-scale projection and sound design.

All works are brought into a single immersive environment, narrated through the voices of the artists. Sound, image, and storytelling merge into one evolving landscape, allowing visitors to move through spaces that shift, dissolve, and reassemble around them.

IN TIME does not simply present change.
It places the viewer inside it.
