Live music, outdoor installations, contemporary art exhibitions, midnight film screenings, and art workshops for children and adults will be part of the free festival, which will take place on Alserkal Avenue on Saturday and Sunday.

The event last took place in January 2020, with over 100 activities and 40,000 visitors. The festival’s ninth edition will focus on the topic of Waking Dreams, with guests allowed to “sleepwalk through daytime dreamscapes.”

Gaia

The installation aims to imbue viewers with the same sense of perspective that astronauts get when viewing the planet from space. A sense of wonder for the world and a fresh sense of responsibility for it are common reactions.

For the length of the festival, Gaia, which takes its name from the Greek mythological personification of the earth, will be set up at the multifunctional venue Concrete.

Lippan Art Workshop

Kutch, in India’s Gujarat state, is the birthplace of Lippan art. The art form is also known as clay mirror work and is Kutch’s traditional mural craft.

The session at Quoz Arts Fest will show you how to make Lippan art using current techniques. It will include a brief history of the art style as well as instructions on how to compose and make your own Lippan wall mural.

Jindi

Jindi is one of the most varied talents on the local music scene, fusing the sounds of 1970s soul, funk, Motown, and reggae.

On Saturday at 9 p.m., the Sudanese singer and composer will perform with his band at The Yard. The event will contain tracks from Jindi’s first EP 1995, as well as smash singles such as Midnight Love and the freshly released Afro dancehall track Hassa, which he collaborated on with Nigerian producer Masterkraft. These are some of the few things which we will observe during the art fest.
