Richard Mille has discreetly released a new limited-edition chronograph in partnership with Ferrari Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc. The RM72-01 “Charles Leclerc” is a daring reinterpretation of the brand’s signature flyback chronograph, reflecting the driver’s racing persona and Monégasque identity.
Limited to just 150 pieces worldwide, the $330,000 USD timepiece features a bold red-and-white colour scheme, symbolic of Monaco’s national flag. Its case is crafted from ultra-light white Quartz TPT with red accents that streak along the sides. The skeletonized dial continues the vivid theme, stripping away hour numerals in favour of motorsport-inspired counters. A black crown mimics the tactile feel of a high-torque F1 tire, while the date window is sharply framed in red and white.
Advanced Engineering Meets Motorsport Design
The watch is powered by the in-house CRMC-1 calibre—an automatic flyback chronograph with 30-minute and 24-hour counters. It includes a function selector and boasts a robust 50-hour power reserve. With a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the movement uses a platinum rotor and ceramic ball bearings to ensure optimal winding efficiency.
Sized at 38.4mm x 47.34mm, the RM72-01 “Charles Leclerc” combines Richard Mille’s signature tonneau case architecture with cutting-edge mechanics. Though Leclerc has been spotted wearing the piece for weeks, the model’s official release has only recently been confirmed—adding to its mystique among collectors.
Exclusivity for the Few
Deliveries have already begun to reach select Richard Mille clients. As with many of the brand’s coveted collaborations, demand for the RM72-01 “Charles Leclerc” is expected to soar beyond its $330,000 retail price on the secondary market.
