As cherry blossoms bloom across Japan, Rolls-Royce has introduced the one-of-a-kind Phantom “Cherry Blossom,” a bespoke creation inspired by the tradition of Hanami, or flower viewing. Designed for a Japanese client, this Phantom Extended captures the fleeting beauty of Sakura season, preserving its essence for future generations. With every detail meticulously crafted, the vehicle embodies both elegance and cultural significance. By blending tradition with innovation, Rolls-Royce has created a masterpiece that reflects the beauty of nature.
Exquisite Handcrafted Embroidery
Developed over three years and six months, the Phantom Cherry Blossom features an extraordinary 250,000 hand-stitched embroidery threads. The bespoke Starlight Headliner is adorned with delicate cherry blossoms, each petal meticulously stitched to reflect light with jewel-like brilliance. Additionally, the motif extends to the rear doors and partition, evoking the sensation of sitting beneath a blooming Sakura tree. This immersive design transforms every journey into a poetic experience.
In a groundbreaking approach, Rolls-Royce incorporated three-dimensional embroidery, enhancing the cherry petals with sculptural depth. Skilled artisans shaped and stitched each petal by hand, utilizing ancient Japanese techniques adapted to modern craftsmanship. As a result, the embroidery achieves a sense of movement and realism, elevating the interior’s artistic appeal.
Elegant Exterior and Thoughtful Details
The exterior, finished in Crystal over Arctic White, radiates understated elegance. A hand-painted coachline, subtly ending in a cherry blossom motif, further emphasizes the theme. Furthermore, even the built-in umbrellas carry the floral aesthetic, featuring a falling petal design on the lining. These intricate details contribute to the overall harmony of the design. By incorporating fine artistry into every element, Rolls-Royce ensures that the Phantom Cherry Blossom remains a symbol of luxury and refinement.
“The cherry blossom represents the ephemeral nature of life,” said Martina Starke, General Manager of Bespoke Design at Rolls-Royce. “Through heritage craftsmanship and contemporary artistry, this motor car beautifully expresses that philosophy.”
