Said Alalawi is an Omani artist who specializes in drawing and painting with a focus on realism and expressionism. Born in 1965, Alalawi’s themes often revolve around Omani landscapes, heritage, traditional dances, the sea, and ships. He works with oil and acrylic colors. Alalawi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education Administration from Sultan Qaboos University (2014) and a Diploma in Teaching in Social Studies from the College of Teachers (1988).

He has participated in several local and international exhibitions and symposiums. In 1989, Alalawi had his first solo exhibition at the Altaliya Sports Club. He also participated in the annual exhibitions of fine arts and Arabic calligraphy, charity auctions, art education teachers’ exhibitions, and international events such as the International Aviation Exhibition in the UK and the International Youth Forum in Egypt.
Apart from his exhibitions, Alalawi conducts workshops and art camps for youth and adults. He also organized several workshops on oil color painting, ceramics, metal wires simulations, and mural art. Alalawi has received numerous awards, including the Jury Prize at the 12th Annual Exhibition of Arabic Calligraphy and Literal Formation in 2017, and an appreciation award from His Majesty’s Office for being the best in the art category during the Youth Year in 1993.
Alalawi’s artworks have been collected by government and private institutions. He has also been officially represented by Oman in various international events, including a joint art exhibition in Malaysia, Omani flying art exhibition in Malaysia, visiting program to Biennale Venice in Italy, and Gulf Cooperation Council Fine Arts Creativity Festival in Kuwait.
