Seiko has reintroduced its 1980s Astronaut A829-6029 model as the “Rotocall”, a digital quartz watch that honors its space-faring legacy. Despite never being officially issued by NASA, the original A829 was worn on over 160 space missions by astronauts including Sally Ride, Kathryn Sullivan, and Anna Lee Fisher.
The Rotocall preserves the A829’s signature rotating bezel, which allows wearers to select eight functions—time, daily alarm, single alarm, dual time, stopwatch, counter, timer, and time set—with a simple turn, eliminating the need for multiple push-buttons.
Powered by a quartz movement, the watch emphasizes precision and reliability, continuing Seiko’s long history of quartz innovation since 1969. The modern release maintains a 37mm stainless steel case, 10.6mm thickness, and 100-meter water resistance, adapting the original unisex design for contemporary wear.
Available in three color variants, the Seiko Rotocall is priced at £480 GBP (approx. $645 USD) and can be pre-ordered through Seiko UK’s online boutique, with deliveries starting 1 November 2025.
