The Emirati Goldsmiths platform, a pioneering initiative by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), is set to take centre stage at the 56th Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show, running from 24th to 28th September 2025 at Expo Centre Sharjah.
Launched to empower Emirati entrepreneurs, the platform strengthens the presence of national talent in the gold and jewellery sector. By supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and fostering innovation in design, production, and marketing, the initiative positions Emirati brands for regional and international competitiveness.
Since its inception, Emirati Goldsmiths has grown to nearly 400 registered members from across the UAE, highlighting the creativity and ambition of local designers. Annual showcases feature gold and diamond collections with heritage-inspired motifs, vibrant colour palettes, and exceptional craftsmanship passed down through generations.
SCCI has also extended the platform’s reach to global markets. Participation in international trade fairs, including the International Handicrafts Trade Fair in Florence, Italy, and the Japan Jewellery Fair, allows Emirati designers to connect with industry leaders, present their innovation, and gain recognition on the global stage. These engagements highlight the fusion of traditional Emirati artistry with contemporary aesthetics.
Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, said, “Empowering young national talent and supporting creative industries is central to our mission. The Emirati Goldsmiths platform acts as both a talent incubator and a catalyst for SME development, reinforcing Sharjah’s vision for a knowledge-driven, innovation-led economy.”
Mona Sultan Al Suwaidi, Director of the Executive Office of SCCI’s Chairman and head of the platform, explained that Emirati Goldsmiths equips designers with comprehensive support, from workshops and training to international trade show exposure. Many participants have since launched distinctive brands that blend traditional aesthetics with modern business models, reflecting both cultural heritage and sustainable growth.
Each year, the platform shines at the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show, presenting standout pieces such as the “Zayed Lantern,” “Palm Necklace,” “Desert Flower,” and “Emirati Dama’a,” which incorporate traditional “Talli” motifs and exquisite gold and gemstone detailing.
The 56th edition of the exhibition will host over 500 local and international exhibitors from 21 countries, alongside 1,800 designers, manufacturers, and industry professionals, cementing its status as the UAE and the region’s premier gold and jewellery trade event.
