The sixth edition of the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival (SEF), with the theme “Where We Belong,” will be held in the Sharjah Research Technology and Innovation Park (SRTIP) this weekend and will feature a wide range of musicians and performers.
The festival, annually put on by Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre (Sheraa), aims to draw attention to the value of many artistic mediums that inspire entrepreneurs’ creativity and innovation while offering a mechanism to promote community building and involvement. The festival also aims to raise awareness of artistic expression and creativity’s vital role in the commercial world. The emphasis on the creative arts also emphasizes the prospects for business people curious about the quick rise of creative industries worldwide.
The festival will showcase a variety of artists and performers, including up-and-coming Emirati artist Abdullah Alshamsi, who entered the music industry with his family’s support at a young age, took part in several high-profile concerts, and performed at the UAE National Day celebrations, all of which helped to grow his fan base and further his career.
A musical spectacular featuring Big Hass, the first Saudi radio host to popularize the Arab hip-hop movement with his program on Pulse 95 radio, a subsidiary of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, will also be organized as part of the two-day festival.
Jindi, a Sudanese singer-songwriter well-known in the Middle East scene for fusing his influences into his songwriting and production, will be another musical highlight of SEF 2022. He is also praised for his excellent live performances. Additionally, Rashed Alnuaimi, an aspiring Emirati singer who began his career as an opera singer before transitioning to the stage, has been nominated for an Elliot Norton Award in the category of Outstanding Musical Performance by an Actor for his portrayal of Bill Sykes in the acclaimed production Oliver.
As we continue to transition towards a media-rich environment through many means, creativity has many benefits for the corporate world, and the creative industry itself is one of the fastest expanding sectors worldwide. In addition to the prominent fields of the visual arts, music, and industrial design, it is becoming increasingly crucial for organizations to think creatively regarding problem-solving, concept development, networking, and marketing.
To give guests a sense of belonging and to demonstrate that the variety of interests and industries are catered to, SEF 2022 will present over 130 internationally recognized speakers, thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and ecosystem architects as part of various dedicated stages this year. In order to serve all communities of entrepreneurs, inventors, and change-makers, the festival will also provide 30 workshops, panel discussions, and presentations, ensuring that every visitor to the event leaves with a sense that “here is where we belong.”
