Columbia Sportswear has returned with its most extensive Star Wars collaboration to date, transporting fans to the forest moon of Endor. Dubbed the Endor Collection, the lineup continues a tradition of annual holiday campaigns that started in 2016, blending Columbia’s signature technology with thematic designs. Iconic looks are reimagined for modern wear, including Han Solo’s trench coat and camouflaged ponchos inspired by Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. Billie Lourd, who plays Lieutenant Connix in the sequel trilogy and is the daughter of Carrie Fisher, stars in this year’s campaign. She shared, “Finding new ways to honor my mom’s legacy in the Star Wars universe is something that means so much to me. Getting to wear the iconic pieces Columbia created and getting to have my family bring that story to life for fans was an incredibly special experience and a memory I will cherish forever.”
Technical Innovation Meets Costume Accuracy
The Endor Collection balances costume authenticity with performance-driven technology. The General Han Solo Trench features a 3-in-1 design, combining a shell with a vest lined with Omni-Heat Infinity, echoing Solo’s tactical gear on Endor. Meanwhile, the Endor Issue Ponchos replicate Luke and Leia’s iconic camouflage, crafted from Omni-Tech waterproof fabric with bungee-adjustable arms. The collection also includes the Endor Issue Boot, designed for exploration with Omni-MAX cushioning, a TechLite midsole, and an Omni-Grip outsole, while still embedding subtle Star Wars references. When asked about translating the Endor environment into apparel, Columbia’s Erin Steele noted, “The spray-painted camouflage on the Endor Issue Ponchos presented a fun challenge for our team… A lot of time went into translating detailed costume design elements into wearable, performance-driven apparel.”
Fan Experience and Legacy
Columbia has designed the Endor Collection to immerse fans in the Star Wars universe. Details like rebel logos, Aurebesh messages, Ewok fleece patches, and original concept art on garments and shoeboxes enhance the storytelling. Steele explained, “We hope fans feel like they’re being dropped right into General Han Solo’s Pathfinder Strike Team. We want them to feel deeply connected to those pivotal scenes on Endor and be inspired to get outdoors for their own real-life adventures in gear designed especially for them.” As the collaboration approaches a decade, Columbia continues to refine its approach in response to fan enthusiasm. Steele added, “Seeing the fan reactions year after year is always a huge source of inspiration for our team.” The Endor Collection will drop on December 11 at 10 a.m. EST, with early access for members of Columbia’s rewards program.
