The intentions of Art be a Part, a new artists’ community in Dubai, to aid disadvantaged children and aid in other humanitarian causes have won great support. Philanthropist and artist Medha Nanda formally unveiled Art be a Part, a programme that would aid UNICEF India in addition to Dubai Cares, a programme of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI).
The movement’s first fundraising effort has already received paintings and photographs from a worldwide roster of artists who have already joined.
One of them is the musician and actor Luke Goss from Hollywood, who discovered his love for painting during the Covid-19 lockdown and donated two serigraphs with a combined value of $100,000.
The serigraphs will be offered for sale during an auction that will take place on September 17 at the Taj Hotel in Dubai as a part of the TiLT Festival and Conference, an international gathering of thought leaders, CEOs, creatives, and businesspeople. Dubai Cares and UNICEF India will receive the auction’s proceeds.
I’m thrilled with the response Art be a Part has gotten, said Medha Nanda. We are overjoyed to support Dubai Cares and look forward to giving each artist who joins the community the tools they need to actively contribute to issues that are important to them. I’m also appreciative that we can collaborate to support UNICEF India and that we have the opportunity to do so.
Future artists that require a platform to be seen are the focus of Art be a Part. Together, it will provide assistance to underserved or overlooked groups like children, communities, animals, and nature. Helping vulnerable children in India’s most rural areas is one of the initial goals.
A strong tool for enacting constructive change is art. A great example of what we can do when we band together in the spirit of making the world a better place for everybody is provided by creative platforms like “Art be a Part.” We appreciate ‘Art be a Part’ for working with the artistic community to support our initiatives to improve the lives of children and young people by granting them access to high-quality artistic expression.
The new community has also drawn a number of well-known photographers, including Dubai-based Hermoine Macura-Noble, whose photographic artwork is featured in the book “Faces of the Middle East” and has been exhibited in London, New York, Washington, and other cities, Indian-born artist Cimmaron Singh, self-taught Harsh Bansal, nature and animal expert Riyad Gandy, and others.
The Art be a Part auction will take place on September 17 as a part of the extensive TiLT Festival & Conference schedule at the Taj Hotel, which also includes networking opportunities, workshops, musical performances, pop-up food showcases, health seminars, art exhibitions, and movie screenings.
