Soft greens, sandy neutrals, and warm timber shape a tranquil beauty clinic environment
STUDIO GIMGEOSIL has designed Palo Verde Aesthetic, a beauty clinic tucked in Seoul’s Seodaemun-gu district, as a “Sanctuary of Natural Elegance.” Inspired by the Palo Verde tree, the 80 square-meter space embodies growth and renewal through its material choices and spatial composition.
Under lead architect YongChul Kim, the interior blends soft greens, sandy neutrals, and warm timber to convey resilience and vitality. Troweled plaster walls and honed limestone floors echo the tree’s bark and foliage, grounding visitors in a soothing, nature-infused atmosphere. Each material selection enhances the clinic’s serene identity while connecting guests to natural elements.
The layout guides visitors through a gentle progression: a welcoming reception alcove leads to private treatment rooms and a serene lounge. Curved partitions and recessed niches manage movement and preserve privacy, while built-in benches and storage keep the environment uncluttered. A skylit central corridor and living green wall introduce daylight and botanical accents, further reinforcing the dialogue between interior and nature.
Lighting shapes the ambience with soft, diffused LEDs concealed in ceiling coves, creating a warm, even glow. Adjustable spotlights accentuate bespoke wood shelving and a sculptural stone washbasin. Carefully selected furniture and fixtures, chosen for their organic forms and tactile finishes, complete the space. As a result, visitors experience an elegantly restrained environment, where they can relax and rejuvenate amid subtle references to the desert landscape.
