Through its many organized masterclasses, meet and greets, and networking events, the Saudi Pavilion at the 75th Cannes Film Festival has become a center for profitable international film production relationships while also providing an intensive cultural journey.
“We are thrilled to return to the Cannes Film Festival to connect with the international film industry, to raise awareness about what is happening in our thriving creative sector, and to showcase the country as a truly unique and exciting film destination,” said Abdullah Al-Eyaf, the Saudi Film Commission’s chief executive officer.
The Saudi Pavilion, which is located near the International Village in Cannes, is one of the largest pavilions this year.
It is an extension of the Kingdom’s rich legacy and a window into the country’s cultural character.
Saudi Arabia has 13 provinces, each with its own unique landscapes, customs, and terrains, ranging from historical landmarks in AlUla to the hidden alleyways of Al-Balad in Jeddah to the brilliant and blossoming roses of Taif.
In the first three days of the festival in the French resort, these various venues have swiftly inspired conversations among film and production lovers.
The pavilion for Saudi Arabia intends to not only enhance the festival with Saudi culture but also to establish a link for future partnerships within the Kingdom’s burgeoning film market.
The Saudi Pavilion kicked off the weekend festivities with another industry lunch at Carlton Beach hosted by the Red Sea Film Festival and an evening networking drink organized by NEOM.
In the pavilion, the Saudi Film Commission collaborated with 11 other Saudi entities engaged with production, distribution, content creation, and talent development, including Film AlUla, Ithra by Aramco, NEOM, the Red Sea International Film Festival, and many others.
