The next Center for Entertainment Arts will be established at Canadian University Dubai in the near future to fulfill the region’s growing demand for advanced skills in the digital and creative industries. CEA, Canada has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University to prepare students for professions in the exciting fields of film, television, and animation.
CUD and CEA will collaborate to help the University introduce new entertainment arts and technology programming initiatives. Dubai is quickly becoming an icon and incubator hub for digital and creative industries in the MENA region. Students will be able to pursue specialized courses in fields such as animation, visual effects, game development, augmented reality, and virtual reality as a result of the MoU. Students from CUD will be able to transfer to CEA partner institutions in Canada as a result of the arrangement.
The MoU was signed in the presence of His Excellency, Consul General of Canada in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, Jean-Philippe Linteau. The gathering took place on the sidelines of a Canadian trade mission to the United Arab Emirates. The Department of Canadian Heritage, whose objective is to promote Canadian arts and culture and its skills in the area, headed the mission, which included 20 Canadian creative industries companies.
“We are happy to embark on this adventure with CUD for this ground-breaking initiative in Dubai,” Peter Walsh and Diwakar Gandhi, Co-Founders and Co-CEOs of CEA, remarked. The synergy and shared value of CEA and CUD’s student-centric approach will stimulate innovation and growth in the UAE and across the MENA region’s digital creative arts industries. Students can use the Canadian curriculum to seek higher education, research, and career possibilities in Canada.
