‘Break the Block,’ a one-of-a-kind street food block party at Dubai Design District (d3), will provide a counter-culture experience of cuisine, music, and creative, freestyle acts. Brag is putting on the two-night event on May 13 and 14 in association with Dubai Food Festival and Dubai Design District, as well as Factory People, Last Seen Live, Ultraviolet Live, 25hours Hotel, and other Dubai organisers. d3 is a global centre for art, design, and creativity that gives a platform for regional and indigenous creative talent to flourish and experiment. It has a booming calendar of high-profile industry events and culture festivals, as well as a number of unique food ideas.
Break the Block will transform, the Block at d3 into a vibrant space inspired by the block party concept, bringing to life an exciting foodie experience combined with entertainment and performances that celebrate Dubai’s street culture and the city’s most breakthrough creative talent in food, music, film, and art. The evening event celebrates Dubai’s variety, as defined by the numerous ethnicities and cultures that call it home, and is open to everybody.
‘Break the Block’ is inspired by the streets of Dubai and the thrill-seeking mentality of the city’s youth, who desire independence, individualism, and authenticity. While the ambiance will be similar to that of an usual block party, the primary goal will be to shatter established moulds and encourage communities to be more innovative. Visitors will be able to partake in a street food experience brought to life by the event’s hand-picked vendors, each of whom has been handpicked to provide a unique gourmet experience with each bite. The gastronomic adventure at Break the Block promises to be remarkable, with inventive spins on burgers and pizza, as well as delectable discoveries in Asian cuisine, Mexican cuisine, coffee, and desserts. Birria Tacos, Café Isan, Chiki, Fifth Flavor, High Joint, Local Fire, Sakura, and Pedalo Gelato are among the venues.
DJs from around the region, including DJ Luitik, DJ Kaboo, NEDZ, Dustizm, and Powers.fm, will be spinning a diverse mix of hip-hop, Arab trap, lo-fi, afro rhythms, trip, and indie to keep everyone on the dancing. Visitors will also be treated to live performances by popular Mena performers such as Freek, Sandra Sahi, and Dyler, who will take to the stage to play their hits and spread the greatest vibes.
