To test the tourist experience before the site opened, the Grand Egyptian Museum revealed on Tuesday that it would hold events and excursions around the complex.
A select few guests will be able to enter the facility in part. The Hanging Obelix Square in front of the museum, the grand hall, the children’s museum, the immersive hall, the outdoor areas, the shop, and the food and beverage outlets will all be accessible to visitors during this phase.
Visitors will access several amazing artifacts upon entering the grand hall, including the statue of Ramesses II, the 10 statues of Senusret, the Sakkara Cannon, the victory column of Mr. N. Ptah, as well as the statues of the Ptolemaic King and Queen.
The newest museum complex, which is two kilometers from the Giza Pyramids, houses the largest archaeological collection in the entire world.
It is situated between the Great Pyramids and the contemporary metropolis of Cairo, covering a total land area of 500,000 square meters.
To prepare for the full site opening, all other museum interior areas, including access to the two Tutankhamun galleries and main galleries, will remain closed.
