The India Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai will continue to exist even after the six-month major spectacle concludes on March 31. According to a press release, the pavilion will be a part of India’s heritage in the UAE. It was believed that the eco-friendly structure would symbolize India’s commitment to sustainability.
Since its October 1 opening, the India Pavilion, one of the Expo’s largest and most famous, has attracted over 1.75 million people.
The India Pavilion, which was opened by Piyush Goyal, India’s Minister of Commerce, Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles, received 1,753,889 visitors before the Expo ended on March 31. Goyal attended India’s Honour Day celebrations at Expo2020 Dubai on March 29.
“We are ecstatic and proud of how India was able to present itself at the Dubai Expo,” stated Indian Ambassador Sunjay Sudhir. “During the six months, many industries and states that participated were able to take advantage of every chance to expand and grow.” Furthermore, our bright young brains and entrepreneurs have taken advantage of the opportunity, and we are proud that the India Innovation Hub is still in its early stages. The India Pavilion is one of the few that will be preserved for posterity and will continue to convey the story of our country for many years to come,” he added.
For its distinctive design and uniqueness, Exhibitor Group awarded it one of the top three pavilions at Expo2020 Dubai in the ‘People’s Choice’ category.
At the India Pavilion, key sectors such as Media and Entertainment, Water, Steel, Food, Agriculture and Livelihoods etc had their own week to highlight growth and investment opportunities in their respective regions.
