The Dubai Racing Club has announced that its seventh race meeting at Meydan Racecourse will be dedicated to celebrating the Dubai Destinations initiative, which was launched recently to highlight the emirate’s extraordinary experiences, events, and activities.
The move is part of the Dubai Racing Club’s efforts to support the project, which was launched in line with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s goal to elevate the UAE’s status as a leading global destination and make Dubai the world’s best city to live and visit. The first racing night of the year will include seven races, including the ‘UAE 1000 Guineas Trial,’ with a total prize pool of more than AED800,000. Each of the day’s seven races, beginning with the ‘Etihad Museum’ maiden race and ending with the ‘Dubai Frame’ maiden race, will be named after one of Dubai’s prominent sites, with both events dedicated to Purebred Arabian horses.
The Al Jaddaf Mile, presented by the ‘Museum of the Future,’ will be followed by four races named after tourist locations in Dubai, including ‘Ain Dubai,’ ‘Burj Al Arab,’ ‘Burj Khalifa,’ and ‘The Palm Jumeirah.’
Dubai Racing Club Chairman Sheikh Rashid bin Dalmook Al Maktoum stated that the club is eager to support the Dubai Destinations project as part of its efforts to further promote Dubai’s status as a prominent worldwide destination, in line with HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision.
Sheikh Rashid bin Dalmook Al Maktoum went on to say that Dubai’s global leadership in the equestrian field has allowed it to become a one-of-a-kind sport and tourist destination. The Dubai World Cup at the Meydan Racecourse, as well as other sporting events and activities, draws people to the emirate every year. Sheikh Rashid stated that the Meydan Racecourse is one of Dubai’s most distinctive locations. The racetrack attracts thousands of tourists each year from all over the world to see its events and races as one of the world’s largest and most prestigious sporting facilities.
