The globe is already experiencing advanced fashion technology, with retail stores arriving at our doorsteps, but Dubai has stepped it up a notch by launching the ‘Store of the Future.’
By integrating physical and digital purchasing concepts, the store in Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates provides visitors with an immersive and personalized buying experience.
The Store of the Future in collaboration with Cisco aims to bring the best features of e-commerce into the physical retail space through technology. The store rotates a variety of womenswear, menswear, beauty, and homeware brands that are not unique but use the latest in camera, sensor, and artificial intelligence technology to personalize clients’ shopping experiences.
This one-of-a-kind hybrid shopping experience begins the moment you walk into the store, with shoppers being given products based on their gender and tastes using data collected by AI and computer vision.
For example, if you’re looking for a specific shade of lipstick, you may use the screen to select the one that looks best on you without touching the product. For a more convenient shopping experience, the smart screen can be divided into three parts for three different shoppers.’Magic Mirrors’ are strategically positioned throughout the store to enhance the experience. Visitors must scan the product on the mirror to obtain information such as the pricing, available sizes, and alternative colours (if any). Similar to internet shopping, it also proposes similar goods or pairs to go with the ensemble.
When you select a product to sample, the magic mirror can transition from a physical to a digital experience, and when the product is scanned, it provides detailed information about the object’s colour, price, and size.
