Expo 2020 Dubai will host a gathering of world leaders from the fields of politics, business, technology, and culture on March 8 to commemorate International Women’s Day.

The event, which runs from March 6 to 8, will highlight gender equality, honor female talent, and fight toward urgent change that goes beyond present quotas.

The three-day event will feature a diverse program that mirrors the International Women’s Day theme for 2022, #BreakTheBias, which celebrates diversity and envisions a future free of stereotypes and discrimination.

The programming will include a two-day music event called ‘We, the Women Festival of Stories,’ which will take place at Dubai’s Festival Garden and will feature worldwide women musicians and female-led bands.

The International Women’s Day agenda is centered around 10 Theme Weeks that offer an exchange of inspiring new ideas to address the greatest issues and opportunities of our day. It is part of Expo 2020 Dubai’s Programme for People and Planet.

On March 8, a Break the Bias Assembly, organized by Expo 2020 Dubai and held at the Dubai Exhibition Center from 9.30 to 13.00, will take place. Its goal is to encourage women’s leadership in areas such as diplomacy, industry, health, and youth, with a focus on progress toward gender equality through project collaboration and idea-sharing.
