The special two-day event will showcase a sophisticated five-course menu, each dish thoughtfully paired with premium Planeta Wines. Designed for connoisseurs seeking depth and elegance, the evening promises an immersive journey into taste, terroir, and tradition.
Guided Tasting with Planeta’s Head Sommelier
On the evening of Friday, July 25th, guests will enjoy a standout dinner hosted by Planeta Head Sommelier Alessandro Vallecchi. Joining as guest sommelier for the event, Vallecchi brings over 30 years of international wine experience, along with academic credentials from UC Davis.
Born in Italy in 1960, he is widely respected for his knowledge and passion for wine. During the event, Vallecchi will lead diners through a curated tasting journey, offering exclusive insights, pairing recommendations, and storytelling that enriches every course. His presence will elevate the evening into a rare, expert-led celebration of Italian wine culture.
A Curated Five-Course Italian Feast
Each wine pairing has been selected to highlight the unique textures and flavours of TOTÓ’s signature menu. Guests will explore a range of elegant wines, from bright whites to robust reds and crisp rosés. The Planeta lineup includes Rosé, La Segreta Bianco, and Plumbago among others, ensuring variety and complexity with each course.
The menu features standout dishes such as:
- Burrata con gamberi: burrata with Sicilian red prawn, baby gem, and Trapanese pesto
- Sicilia Pizza: tomato sauce, fried eggplant, ricotta cheese, and lemon
- Calamarata allo scoglio: pasta with mussels, shrimp, clams, and calamari in fish sauce
- Supplì al Telefono: golden-crusted arborio rice with mozzarella and tomato sauce
- Cannolo Siciliano: traditional pastry with creamy ricotta, pistachio, and candied orange
Priced at AED 400 per person, the five-course experience is tailored for wine-drinking, non-vegetarian, and gluten-tolerant guests. The experience is available for dinner on Friday from 6 PM, and for both lunch and dinner on Saturday, July 26th.
