Minister of Culture highlights transformative decree to empower the arts sector.

Sheikh Salem bin Khalid Al Qassimi, UAE Minister of Culture, has reiterated the nation’s dedication to nurturing the arts and cultural landscape. His remarks followed the issuance of the Decree Law on Empowering the Arts Sector, a strategic move aimed at creating a comprehensive framework to regulate and enhance the artistic environment across the country.

Speaking on the significance of this initiative, Sheikh Salem stated, “It reflects our government’s vision and interest in the arts sector, which fosters creativity and attracts talent from all over the world to live and work in the UAE.”

A Strategic Step Towards Cultural Growth

The decree seeks to establish legislative guidelines and unified policies to support the operations of art institutions. Sheikh Salem highlighted the role of the Ministry of Culture in aligning with the UAE leadership’s vision by implementing national strategies that elevate the country’s creative and cultural sectors.

He emphasised the law’s potential to bolster the creative economy, which contributes directly to the national economy, while offering government incentives to empower artists and cultural innovators.

“The arts sector is pivotal in fostering societal development at all levels. It strengthens national and intellectual identity, enriches cultural movements, and positively impacts the social, economic, and educational landscape,” Sheikh Salem noted.

A Holistic Cultural Vision

The newly introduced law aligns with the UAE government’s ambition to create an integrated cultural ecosystem that supports artistic expression and creativity. This approach aims to attract global talent, further solidifying the UAE’s position as a global leader in the arts.

Sheikh Salem underlined the importance of the arts in promoting societal progress, enhancing intellectual identity, and enriching the cultural fabric. By addressing these dimensions, the decree lays the groundwork for advancing the UAE’s artistic and cultural infrastructure.

Commitment to Global Excellence

The UAE continues to cement its reputation as a hub for artistic talent and cultural exchange. The leadership’s unwavering support, through initiatives like the Decree Law, demonstrates a commitment to fostering an environment where creativity thrives and contributes to both national pride and global recognition.
