Zeinab Al Hashemi, an Emirati artist, and el Seed, a Tunisian artist residing in the UAE, will both have a selection of their works on display at Art D’Egypte, an event taking place in Egypt’s Giza Plateau from October 27 to November 30, 2022.
The UAE Ministry of Culture and Youth was recently announced as a global partner of the fifth edition of Art D’Egypte, which prompted the participation of the UAE-based artists.
Under the tagline “Forever is Now,” the exhibition in Egypt is being organised by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Egyptian National Committee of UNESCO, and the Egyptian Tourism Authority.
The Ministry of Culture and Youth is assisting UAE artists through this collaboration by giving them the chance to interact with international cultural figures and artistic communities.
The Venice Biennale is the perfect venue for artists to obtain international experience because Art D’Egypte is organised along the same lines as the Lyon Biennale.
Al Hashemi will display a piece of continuing art from the “Camouflage of the Camel” series titled “Camouflage of the Camels 1.618 Missing Obelisk.”’
“The Ministry of Culture and Youth is interested in learning more about the creations of its artists and encourages them to interact with peers around the globe in order to share information and experiences. Thus, by adding a new dimension to their artistic expression, our involvement in such events supports artists’ objectives. Every work of art is distinctive because it conveys a story and the creator’s particular perspective.
The show, the first to be hosted inside the Giza pyramids, was covered by more than 800 Arab and international media sources.
The exhibition takes happen at the same time as the COP27 United Nations Climate Change Conference, which will be held in Sharm el-Sheikh. In light of their strategic and long-standing ties with Egypt, as well as their preparations to host the COP28 conference in 2023, the UAE is supporting this event.
