Eid Al Etihad to feature grand ceremonies, nationwide events, and the possibility of a long weekend.
Public Holidays and Anticipated Break
The UAE has announced preparations for its 54th National Day, celebrated annually on December 2nd as Eid Al Etihad. This occasion honours the historic unification of the seven emirates, uniting citizens and residents in pride and cultural appreciation. For 2025, December 2nd and 3rd are confirmed as public holidays. Depending on how the dates align, residents could enjoy a four-day weekend beginning December 1st, or even a five-day break under official holiday regulations.
Celebrations Across the Nation
At the heart of the festivities will be a grand ceremony on December 2nd attended by the nation’s leadership. While the location has yet to be disclosed, organisers confirmed that it will take place at a site of cultural and national significance. Previous celebrations have set high standards, including the 2024 event at Jebel Hafeet in Al Ain, which highlighted the UAE’s traditions and forward-looking vision. Alongside the main gathering, celebration zones will be spread across all emirates. Last year, Global Village, Festival Promenade, Hatta, The Outlet Village Mall, and Quranic Park hosted vibrant events that drew wide participation.
A Message of Unity
Organisers are extending an open invitation to all citizens and residents, encouraging everyone to take part in the commemorations. Eisa Alsubousi, director of strategic and creative affairs for Eid Al Etihad, explained the significance of launching festivities on Union Pledge Day. He said, “This year represents our renewed dedication to partnership and inclusivity, as we work together to create an unforgettable experience that brings together everyone in our diverse national community.” To build anticipation, exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from last year’s celebrations has been released, underscoring the cultural pride and detailed planning behind the annual event.
