Ugo Rondinone’s work was instantly recognizable with the ample use of fluorescent colors in the work. The installation is part of 40 new installations in Qatar in time for the FIFA World Cup and was revealed by the artist himself near the 974 Stadium.

The installation is a large-scale composition resembling totems and ancient megaliths. He began, displaying public art in San Franciso, Liverpool, New York, and then internationally, and now his work is available to the public alongside the international tournament of soccer to begin from November.

The “Doha Mountains” was inspired by the colors of the Olympic rings to reflect Qatar’s dedication to the representation of its values of excellence, friendship, and respect.

Rondinone’s “Doha Mountains” is part of 40 installations that resemble Qatar’s commitment to public art.
