Dubai’s contemporary art landscape is witnessing a vibrant new addition as A+ Art Consultancy unveils its inaugural exhibition, “Unbound Territories.” The show, which runs until April 30 at Foundry Downtown, introduces a compelling lineup of women artists, both established and emerging.

Led by Azra Aban, the exhibition is the result of a creative partnership with London’s Gillian Jason Gallery — a collaboration rooted in Aban’s professional journey and shared commitment to amplifying female voices in the art world. According to Aban, the relationship with Gillian Jason Gallery began during her years in London, where she was inspired by their thoughtful curatorial practice and their mission to promote women artists globally.
A Cross-Generational Celebration of Female Creativity
The exhibition features a mix of well-known names and fresh talent. From icons like Louise Bourgeois and Bridget Riley to contemporary voices such as Megan Baker and Pippa El-Kadhi Brown, the show builds a bridge between generations and styles. The artworks span a wide range of mediums including sculpture, printmaking, painted photography, oil painting, and works on paper. Aban describes these pieces as revealing “the radical potential of material and form,” offering visitors a layered and thought-provoking experience.
The exhibition’s title, “Unbound Territories,” reflects its ambition to present art that transcends time, geography, and artistic disciplines. For Aban, the show not only marks an exciting moment for Dubai but also highlights shifting dynamics across the Middle East. She believes the region is uniquely positioned to nurture female creativity, noting that the UAE is shaping an identity that merges its rich cultural heritage with modern global perspectives.
Redefining the Region’s Creative Landscape
Aban views “Unbound Territories” as an important milestone, especially as several of the featured artists are making their UAE debut. More than just a group exhibition, the show is a statement about the growing recognition of women’s contributions to the global art world.
As she looks ahead, Aban promises that A+ Art Consultancy will continue to spotlight underrepresented narratives. Future projects will aim to spark dialogue between cultures and offer collectors access to artwork that resonates beyond trends, creating lasting value.
