Vacheron Constantin has introduced the Overseas Grand Complication Openface, marking the debut of a minute repeater within its sporty-luxury Overseas collection. This milestone launch combines horological mastery with modern elegance, featuring a titanium case, a complex openworked dial, and a movement that unites three prestigious complications.

Titanium Engineering Meets Haute Horlogerie

Encased in lightweight yet robust titanium, the new Overseas Grand Complication Openface spans 44.5mm and maintains the collection’s signature refinement despite housing one of Vacheron Constantin’s most intricate calibres. The watch’s sapphire dial reveals an architectural openwork design framed by a blue chapter ring and calendar subdials, while white gold hands and markers accentuate its contemporary aesthetic.

At the heart of the timepiece lies the ultra-thin 2755 QP calibre — just 7.9mm thick — showcasing a minute repeater, perpetual calendar, tourbillon, and a power reserve indicator. The movement, visible through the open caseback, delivers 58 hours of power and is enhanced with artisanal finishing, including a gold arc-shaped centripetal regulator engraved with founder Jean-Marc Vacheron’s initials on the inertia weights.

Reengineering the Case for Sound and Durability

Integrating a minute repeater within the Overseas case posed a significant technical challenge, particularly in preserving water resistance. Vacheron Constantin dedicated 18 months of R&D to achieve this, completely reworking the caseback design while retaining the signature curves and proportions of the Overseas series. This innovation ensures the functionality of the repeater’s sliding mechanism without compromising durability.

The result is a timepiece that balances elegance, functionality, and mechanical complexity — a rare accomplishment in sports-oriented haute horlogerie.

Limited Production with Versatile Wearability

The Overseas Grand Complication Openface will be produced in limited quantities and comes equipped with a matching titanium bracelet, in addition to two interchangeable straps in blue rubber and alligator leather. This flexibility allows collectors to shift seamlessly between formal elegance and casual sophistication.
