The Australian International School (AIS) in Dubai was decked up in a festive theme to welcome Mothers along with their families to witness one of the biggest ‘WonderMom Fest 2023’ in the UAE on the 18th of June. This notable event was organized by the WonderMom magazine, a leading Motherhood magazine in the UAE by the Gulf Time Media (GTM) in association with Aster Clinics and was powered by AVON & Nataraj.
As it is quoted that ‘the hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world’ – The WonderMoM Fest 2023 was a testimony to this quote and a humble attempt to recognize the painstaking efforts taken by all such mothers in nurturing their tiny tots while simultaneously ruling the world around them! It was one of its kind Family Fest, as Father’s Day and Family Awareness Day were also celebrated on the same day. Revolving around the theme of Social Inclusion, it helped families to experience, acknowledge and respect the diversity that the autism spectrum brings to our world, and work towards a more inclusive society where neurodiversity is better understood and appreciated.
The day-long event unfolded a plethora of amazing segments and had something stored for everyone who attended it. The welcome speech was presented by Ms. Karen McCord, Executive Principal of AIS, and Ms. Manisha Harawat, Founder of WonderMoM Magazine. It was then followed by a speech note by Ms. Nahid Mudathir Hassan, Founder of MyMaximus (a vocational training Centre for adults with mental disabilities in the UAE after the school years). As a mother of a child with different needs, she spoke about her hardship and highlighted the need to have an inclusive society. It was then followed by an ‘Expert Talk’ hosted by Ms. Farnek (Founder of Enaya Education). The panelists included Dr. Diksha Laungani, Ms. Nisha Tandon, Mr. Sulaiman Amhaz, Ms. Faridah Merchant, and Ms.Anagha Kuttappan.
The panel members for the second talk – ‘Mom Talk’ were Dr. Sana Sajan, Ms. Debanjali Kamastra, Ms. Fathima Jabeen, and Ms. Sadika who discussed the topic ‘Mompreneurs: Perceive, Conceive, Believe and Achieve’. It was an insightful session on raising children and business together. The third talk was an ‘Influencer Mom Talk’ that had renowned influencers as panelists such as Ms. Niki Shah, Ms. Mamta Sachdeva, and Dr. Sandy Zanella who dwelled on the topic ‘Influencer Mommies: On creating an inspiring and empowering digital space for personal and community growth’.
The other attractions of the event were various competitions for kids that helped in showcasing their talent by putting their best foot forward. The expert jury members for the dancing competition were Ms. Mehek Khushboo and Ms. Anisha Jain, for the singing competition Ms. Geetanjali Arora and Ms. Ayesha Shaik, for the Drawing competition Dr. Supriya Chouhan and Ms. Varsha Sureka, and for Fancy Dress competition Ms. Shabnam Kassam and Ms. Neha Silva who appreciated and motivated every participant. Dance performance by G3 Creative Galaxy, Team Valerine Miranda, Team Anisha graced the stage with boundless energy,captivating the hearts and souls of the audience Finally, the event concluded by announcing the winner of lucky coupon.
The event received an overwhelming response and support from various brands from the industry, namely Ora Nursery, Hummingbird, Curaprox, Enaya Education, Golden Ribbon Chocolates, Crystal Arc, Valrhona, Dr. Brown’s, Fresh to Home, The Face Shop, Khaleej Times, Zee TV and Lazulite. It was attended by around 500+ families from diverse backgrounds across the UAE.
