Brazilian architecture studio Suite Arquitetos has unveiled Casa Magma, a residential-style installation for Casacor São Paulo 2026 that showcases Portinari ceramic tiles alongside Brazilian furniture, lighting and contemporary art. Located at Parque da Água Branca, the 215-square-metre project responds to this year’s theme, Mind and Heart, through warm colours, tactile materials and curved architectural forms.

Rather than creating a conventional showroom, the studio designed Casa Magma as a contemporary home. As a result, visitors experience the products within a comfortable domestic setting that encourages exploration and reflection.

“The space was born from this desire to create a contemporary shelter, almost like a cocoon,” said Suite Arquitetos. “We wanted people to feel the environment even before rationally understanding it.”

“Casa Magma speaks about welcoming and about this silent power that exists in matter, light, and textures,” it continued.

Curved ceramic walls shape the visitor experience

Visitors enter through a corridor bordered by a sweeping partition clad in fluted Portinari ceramic tiles. The curved wall then guides them into the central living area while visually connecting the installation from end to end.

Meanwhile, dark red, walnut, burgundy and terracotta tones create a warm atmosphere throughout the project. At its centre, a sunken lounge surrounds an exposed structural column designed to resemble a fireplace. A cylindrical base filled with stacked logs strengthens the residential character.

Curved velvet sofas define two seating areas around custom furniture. At the same time, a rust-coloured carpet softens the interior and reinforces the earthy colour palette.

Toward the centre of the installation, a compact kitchen and bar sit beneath a sculptural pendant light designed by Suite Arquitetos with natural crystals and tubular elements. Vintage chairs by Brazilian designer Joaquim Tenreiro complete the setting.

Brazilian art and furniture complete Casa Magma

The installation also features works by leading Brazilian artists and designers. Figurative pieces include a drawing by Diego Rivera and a sculpture by Odoardo Tabacchi. In addition, visitors can see a metallic stool by Rodrigo Zampol and a relief panel by Zanini de Zanine.

The minimalist bathroom demonstrates additional applications of Portinari ceramic tiles. Textured wall and floor surfaces pair with recessed lighting and matte brown fixtures, creating a calm and tactile environment.

“Applied to walls and floors, the stone expands the tactile reading of the environment and highlights different customization possibilities,” said the team.

Casa Magma forms part of Casacor São Paulo 2026 and demonstrates how ceramic materials, Brazilian craftsmanship and contemporary design can create an immersive residential exhibition. Consequently, the installation offers visitors a design experience that balances material innovation with warmth and everyday living.
