His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan visited the 23rd Abu Dhabi International Hunting and Equestrian Exhibition (ADIHEX), currently taking place at ADNEC Centre Abu Dhabi under the theme “A Legacy of Pride”. The exhibition is organised by ADNEC Group in strategic partnership with the Emirates Falconers’ Club.
During his visit, Sheikh Zayed toured several of the exhibition’s local and international pavilions, viewing products, technologies, and new ideas related to hunting, equestrian sports, and falconry. He also explored displays focused on traditional arts and crafts, outdoor pursuits, environmental protection, and the preservation of Emirati customs.
Representatives from participating organisations briefed His Highness on some of the technologies and innovations being introduced across these fields, as well as efforts to develop modern practices while retaining the traditions associated with the UAE’s heritage.
Sheikh Zayed highlighted ADIHEX’s role in keeping the country’s cultural heritage connected to younger generations. He noted the importance of helping young people understand the customs, values, and traditions passed down by previous generations, and of maintaining a sense of pride in this heritage as part of the UAE’s national identity.
This year’s exhibition is the largest ADIHEX has held since its launch in 2003. Covering 107,000 square metres, the 23rd edition features 2,405 exhibitors and brands from 71 countries, with participation spread across 15 sectors. These include falconry, equestrian sports, hunting and safari tourism, traditional arts and crafts, and environmental and cultural heritage.
The scale of this year’s event has also broadened the range of exhibitors and activities, giving specialists, enthusiasts, and visitors a place to exchange knowledge and see new approaches to traditional sports, outdoor activities, and heritage preservation.
Across its 10-day programme, ADIHEX has featured live demonstrations, heritage performances, workshops, and interactive activities alongside its exhibition areas. The programme has helped position the event as an international meeting point for those interested in the UAE’s cultural heritage and the efforts being made to keep these traditions relevant for future generations.
