French furniture brand Tiptoe and Parisian multidisciplinary collective Uchronia have unveiled “DAYDREAM,” a new collaborative collection presented at the Grand Palais during Paris Design Week.
Shown within Uchronia’s monumental “Le Grand Bouquet” installation, the collection brings together Tiptoe’s industrial approach to furniture with Uchronia’s more poetic and sensory design language. The result moves beyond the strict geometric forms traditionally associated with Tiptoe, introducing softer silhouettes, expressive colour, and organic volumes.
The collaboration imagines furniture through the lens of a suspended dream state, in which familiar objects are released from rigid structures. Rather than treating colour as a secondary element, “DAYDREAM” uses it as an expressive language that shapes the collection’s atmosphere and character.
From Industrial Utility to Organic Forms
Uchronia founder Julien Sebban describes “DAYDREAM” as a “sensory, colour-driven journey.” The concept centres on transforming everyday furniture into objects that encourage a more emotional and contemplative experience.
Tiptoe’s characteristic steel hardware is reinterpreted with an emphasis on organic volume and fluid movement. Wave-like curves inspired by water replace the brand’s more rigid geometric silhouettes, creating a softer visual identity while retaining the collection’s functional foundation.
This shift is particularly evident in the treatment of surfaces and sculpted wood tabletops. Rippling forms are carefully cut to follow the grain of the wood, allowing the material’s natural character to remain part of the design.
The collection, therefore, brings together contrasting qualities: the utility associated with Tiptoe’s industrial language and the more atmospheric, sensory approach developed by Uchronia.
A Four Colour Palette Defines DAYDREAM
Colour provides another central element of the collaboration, with Uchronia developing four exclusive shades specifically for “DAYDREAM.”
Magma Orange introduces a vibrant signature tone, while Ice Cream Beige offers a softer and more luminous presence. Chocolate Brown brings a nostalgic and comforting quality to the palette, while Astral Purple adds a deeper, more distinctive note.
Astral Purple is further distinguished by fine, stardust-like glitter, creating a subtle visual effect that encourages contemplation. The colour palette is applied across the collection’s reworked surfaces and sculpted wooden elements, reinforcing the idea that furniture can contribute to an emotional or imagined interior landscape.
Together, the four tones give “DAYDREAM” its playful yet reflective character. The collection uses vivid pigmentation alongside fluid forms to move furniture beyond purely functional considerations and toward a more sensory experience.
Presented in “Le Grand Bouquet” at the Grand Palais, “DAYDREAM” brings together Tiptoe and Uchronia’s distinct design perspectives into a single collection. Industrial hardware, organic curves, sculpted wood, and an expressive colour palette combine to create a new interpretation of everyday furniture.
Through this collaboration, Tiptoe’s established material language is softened and reshaped, while Uchronia’s sensory approach finds expression through functional objects. The resulting collection positions furniture as part of an inner landscape, balancing playfulness with contemplation.
