The third edition of the world’s largest book sale, Big Bad Wolf Books, was opened on Thursday by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority and Member of the Dubai Council.
The 11-day event, which runs from 14 to 24 April in Dubai Studio City, will feature almost one million books.
Sheikha Latifa viewed the exhibition and lauded the event’s cultural and cognitive diversity, which includes books in a variety of languages covering a wide range of topics and fields, including scientific, literary, and humanitarian, to name a few.
Many of Dubai Culture’s sectoral aims, such as making culture accessible to everyone and boosting reading, are aligned with Big Bad Wolf Books.
“Your Majesty” Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, has long worked to promote a reading culture in the community, making it a necessary daily habit and fostering a love of reading in future generations.
A robust reading culture allows individuals of society to make major contributions to the Arab region’s development and advancement, as well as fostering creativity and invention in a variety of disciplines. Big Bad Wolf Literature offers a world of books and knowledge to its visitors, as well as playing an important role in the community.
Big Bad Wolf Books is open every day from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m., and admission is free. Discounts on books range from 50 percent to 80 percent off recommended retail prices at the show.
