On Monday, the Misk Art Institute in Riyadh opened a new exhibition titled “Tales of Nostalgia.” The exhibition features the creations of 12 Saudi and foreign artists that explore alternative tales using emerging technologies while reflecting on ideas of time, memory, and nostalgia.

It will be on show at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Art Gallery until January 15 and is being curated by Marnie Benney and Alia Ahmad Alsaud, assistant curator at the Misk Art Institute.

“Tales of Nostalgia” is a conversation about where we are as a species in our never-ending relationship with time and technology, according to the event’s organisers.

The exhibition, which includes immersive digital soundscapes, intends to shed light on a society that is becoming more technologically advanced and digitised, notably the growing significance of artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques.

A number of presentations, workshops, and chances to interact with the participating artists will be held in conjunction with the exhibition over the course of many days.
