Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) will showcase the UAE Design Oasis at the prestigious Maison&Objet International Fair, running from 16 to 20 January 2025. The exhibit features works from 15 UAE-based designers, spotlighting innovation and craftsmanship while aligning with Dubai’s Quality of Life Strategy and Dubai Cultural Grant Programme.
A Platform for UAE’s Creative Talent
Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, CEO of Arts, Design, and Literature at Dubai Culture, emphasized the importance of the design sector in enhancing Dubai’s global creative standing. “Maison&Objet offers a vital platform for UAE-based designers to showcase their talent, fostering a competitive and inspiring environment,” he said.
The exhibit features designs blending traditional Emirati heritage with contemporary aesthetics. Highlights include furniture, homeware, and innovative creations crafted from sustainable materials like compressed soil and recycled palm fronds.

- Muneera AlMulla: ‘O-Piece: Al Safeefah Edition’ – A multifunctional incense burner combining leather and palm fronds.
- Raghad Al Ali: ‘Nudi’ – Glassblown pieces inspired by natural forms.
- Areen Hassan: ‘Threads’ – A reimagining of traditional fabrics for functional spaces.
- Lina Ghalib: ‘Yareed Bench’ – A sustainable bench made from recycled palm fronds.
Other standout works include Majid Al Bastaki’s nostalgic ‘Bo Naj-Ma’, Hamza Al-Omari’s calligraphy-inspired ‘Markab’, and Reem Al Bustani’s door-handle-inspired designs.

From ceramic tables celebrating Emirati majlis gatherings to bioplastic lamps infused with pomegranate residue, the UAE Design Oasis reflects Dubai Culture’s commitment to bridging heritage and modernity.
