Bugatti has officially opened its new Berlin-based design studio, set within a restored 1,100-square-meter former power station from the 1920s. Once a celebrated techno club, the venue now serves as a striking fusion of history and innovation—reflecting the brand’s mission to craft the future of hyper-luxury performance vehicles.

Located in one of Europe’s most creative hubs, the Berlin studio offers more than a fresh setting. It stands as a symbol of Bugatti’s evolution—housing cutting-edge tools like VR head-tracking systems, which provide millimeter-level precision in 3D design exploration. These digital tools reduce reliance on traditional clay modelling, enabling faster, more immersive design processes.

A Collaborative Hub for Global Creators

Inside the new facility, Bugatti has assembled a diverse team of designers from 22 different countries. The open-plan workspace fosters collaboration while retaining key historical features from its industrial past—such as ceramic tiling and cast iron staircases. This blend of old and new echoes Bugatti’s broader design philosophy: honouring timeless craftsmanship while embracing tomorrow’s technologies.

“This new studio is crafted to nurture that spirit,” said Frank Heyl, Director of Design at Bugatti. “To be a Bugatti, each model must be infused with the spirit of its incomparable heritage.”

More than a design lab, the Berlin studio doubles as an experiential space for global clients. It invites them to co-create bespoke automotive masterpieces with the brand’s design team, deepening the bond between creator and collector in an environment steeped in both history and innovation.
