Seiko is marking its role as official timekeeper of the Tokyo 2025 World Athletics Championships with a new limited-edition release: the Prospex Speedtimer SSC955. This striking timepiece features an Edo Purple dial, honouring both Japanese heritage and the official colour of the upcoming global event.
Edo Purple and Panda Dial Make a Bold Statement
The watch is housed in a 39mm stainless steel case and features a sunray-finished purple dial with a panda-style layout. Black chronograph subdials sit in contrast to the purple base, while faceted black indices and matte black sword-style hands filled with Lumibrite ensure excellent visibility. A fixed black tachymeter bezel completes the sport-ready aesthetic.
Precision-Powered Solar Movement and Limited Release
Inside, the watch runs on Seiko’s solar-powered V192 movement, offering:
- A 60-minute chronograph
- A 24-hour indicator
- Up to six months of power reserve on a full charge
Each timepiece features a commemorative case back engraved with the Tokyo 2025 logo and an individual serial number, underlining its exclusive status.
The three-link stainless steel bracelet, polished at the center and secured with a push-button clasp, adds a refined touch to the sport-driven design.
