Swiss watchmaker IWC has introduced two new editions of the Pilot’s Watch Chronograph 41 TOP GUN Miramar, showcasing a standout Pantone® light blue shade across both ceramic and stainless steel variants. Inspired by the iconic T-shirts worn by instructors at the U.S. Navy Fighter Weapons School, the light blue colour defines both the ceramic and dial tones of this new release.
Limited to just 1,000 pieces, the ceramic edition features a case made using zirconium oxide mixed with metallic oxides — a process requiring precise formulation and multiple trials to achieve the exact hue and texture. The result is a completely tonal design, with the case, dial, and rubber strap unified by the same soft blue tone.
Precision, Protection and Interchangeability
This edition houses the IWC-manufactured 69380 calibre movement — a robust column-wheel chronograph offering 46 hours of power reserve. The case back, crafted in titanium, features an engraving of the “TOP GUN” emblem and includes a soft-iron inner case to protect against magnetic fields.
Accompanying the ceramic version, IWC also debuts a 41mm stainless steel model — marking the first time a Pantone® TOP GUN colour has been applied to a non-ceramic case. This model sports a Miramar blue dial, matching blue rubber strap, and rhodium-plated hands coated with Super-LumiNova® for enhanced legibility. An open sapphire caseback reveals the in-house calibre 69385.
Both timepieces feature IWC’s signature EasX-CHANGE® system, allowing users to easily switch straps for added versatility. The ceramic edition is priced at $13,500 USD, while the stainless steel version retails for $7,200 USD. Both are available now via IWC boutiques and online.
