A decade after introducing the Pioneer line and seven years since debuting the Flying Hours complication, H. Moser & Cie. has united the two in a striking new release. Presented at Geneva Watch Days 2025, the Pioneer Flying Hours reinterprets the wandering hours display with three rotating discs that orbit a central minutes disc. Each numeral performs an instantaneous jump for clarity, while the design eliminates logos and markers, creating a clean, graphic presentation that highlights the hypnotic movement of the hours.
Distinctive Designs in Gold and Steel
The Pioneer Flying Hours arrives in two variations housed within a 42.8 mm case. The first pairs 5N red gold with black DLC-coated titanium inserts and an aventurine dial that evokes a starry night sky. The second offers a more industrial expression in stainless steel with a white fumé dial. Both models include pump-style crowns, domed sapphire crystals, and robust rubber straps – black for the red gold edition and gray for the steel. Each ensures water resistance up to 12 ATM, blending elegance with durability.
Technical Excellence and Collector Appeal
Inside both timepieces beats the in-house HMC 240 automatic calibre, equipped with a Straumann® hairspring. Operating at 21,600 vph, it delivers a 72-hour power reserve. Through the exhibition caseback, enthusiasts can admire the finely finished movement, complete with anthracite-toned bridges and plates. The oscillating weight is crafted in solid red gold for the 5N edition and tungsten for the steel version.
The red gold aventurine model is limited to 100 pieces and priced at $49,900, while the white fumé steel variant is available without limitation at $41,200. Both embody Moser’s minimalist philosophy, combining technical ingenuity with bold aesthetics.
