Zenith has partnered with USM Modular Furniture to present the Defy Chronograph USM collection at Geneva Watch Days 2025. The collaboration imagines what might have happened had USM’s Haller system of 1965 converged with Zenith’s El Primero chronograph of 1969. The result is a capsule that reflects shared values of precision, structure, and modern design.
Each watch is housed in a 37.3 mm stainless-steel case, staying true to the original Defy’s octagonal silhouette and 14-sided bezel. The collection introduces four bold dials – USM Green, Pure Orange, Golden Yellow, and Gentian Blue – each paying tribute to the modular aesthetic that defines USM’s furniture. A whimsical detail comes in the chronograph seconds hand, tipped with a miniature USM-style ball joint coated in Super-LumiNova.

Inside beats Zenith’s celebrated El Primero 400 calibre, renowned for its high-frequency 36,000 vph performance and a 55-hour power reserve. The sapphire caseback reveals an openworked rotor that proudly carries both the Zenith star and the USM emblem. This mechanical precision merges with playful touches that make the collection distinct within Zenith’s contemporary offerings.
Limited Edition with Collector Appeal
Each colour variant is limited to only 60 pieces, underlining its exclusivity. Priced at $11,800, the watches are delivered in a custom-designed chest inspired by the USM Haller system, extending the partnership’s dedication to craftsmanship and modular design.
