H.H. Sheikh Tahnoun bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Adviser, and founder of the Khawla Art and Cultural Foundation, wife of H.H. Sheikha Khawla bint Ahmed Khalifa Al Suwaidi, emphasized her desire to support all forms of art and creative talent in the UAE and give them the chance to strengthen their international presence.
She said this at the opening of Ali bin Thalith’s photography exhibition, which was held last night at the Khawla Art Gallery in the Dubai Design District. Ali bin Thalith is the Secretary-General of the Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum International Photography Award (HIPA). The show closes on January 28, 2022.
The event was also attended by a number of authorities and artists, including Mohammed Al Murr, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Library Foundation, and Adeeb Shaaban, the Secretary-General of the Arab Photographers Union.
According to Sheikha Khawla, the foundation is eager to assist Emirati talent and is honoring Ali bin Thalith’s artistic career as one of the most well-known underwater photographers in the world by sponsoring his show.
According to Ali bin Talith’s exclusive statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the exhibition features a variety of underwater pictures he took between 2014 and 2015 while traveling on over 18 different occasions to the UAE, the Philippines, Malaysia, Egypt, and the Maldives.
Then, after thanking the foundation for helping him as an Emirati artist, he emphasized the importance of giving artists the chance to exhibit their works.
The foundation’s director, Rayan Hakki, said in a statement to WAM that the exhibition, which is the second one the organization has hosted for a well-known Emirati photographer, highlights the value of photography and displays the skills of Ali bin Thalith, a specialist in underwater and wildlife photography.
