If an ancient mummy with a tongue wrapped in golden foil excavated in Alexandria earlier this
year piqued your interest, then to amaze two additional mummies like it have been discovered at
a site in Minya, Egypt.
On Sunday, the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities announced on Facebook that an
archaeological delegation led by the University of Barcelona had begun investigating two burial
tombs that may date from the 26th Dynasty. One of the graves had never been explored
previously.
The archaeologists discovered two bodies, one male and the other female. The man’s tomb was
completely sealed, making it a very unusual find. The woman’s quartz casket, on the other hand,
had previously been opened, and some of the belongings within were in poor condition,
according to the National. Green beads were strung along the woman’s body.
