Italian furniture brand Meridiani has unveiled its latest collection, designed by its creative force and art director Andrea Parisio. The new series comprises seating concepts and a modular storage system that combine soft curves, functionality, and customisable elements to cater to diverse interior styles and needs.
The collection includes four seating options—a pouffe, an armchair, and two chair designs—as well as the Wallis storage system, designed for both home and creative workspaces. Parisio envisioned each piece as part of a harmonious narrative, offering individuality while maintaining the signature Meridiani aesthetic.
A Cohesive Design Story
“Each Meridiani product reveals a piece of the brand’s story, expressing a facet of its identity,” stated the company. “The new 2024 seating collection by Andrea Parisio is a choral, four-voiced narration that whispers new ideas for furnishing with personality.”
The seating options include the Cosette and Claudine chairs, which share circular, wraparound backrests that extend into the rear legs. While Cosette features two front legs and a slightly smaller backrest, Claudine adopts a single front leg and a deeper backrest that fully embraces the seat.
“The seat is rounded, and the wraparound backrests are seamlessly integrated into the back legs,” explained Meridiani. “They share the same artistic essence but maintain their unique characters, making them both complementary and independent.”
Soft and Functional Seating
The Jeanette armchair, another standout, offers a bold yet delicate presence with its deep semi-cylindrical backrest, slightly lifted to create a visual gap where it meets the floor. The curved single leg under the seat provides structural stability while maintaining aesthetic continuity with the design.
“Jeanette combines fullness and softness in an enveloping design,” noted Meridiani.
Completing the seating collection is the Gino pouffe, a compact, versatile piece with a rounded seat and customisable legs. “Gino is the original and a nice, practical and versatile pouf,” the brand shared. “It is a delightful complement to any corner of the house.”
Modular Storage with Creative Freedom
Beyond seating, the collection includes the Wallis storage system, designed for modularity and customisation. Available in matte or glossy lacquer finishes, Wallis offers options for tops in materials such as marble, travertine, leather, and back-painted glass. Its sleek, inset-top design includes practical handles, making it suitable for both elegant living spaces and functional work environments.
“Wallis is a true design tool,” explained Meridiani. “It is conceived to shape and reshape environments, unlocking the potential for creativity and self-expression.”
This modular storage unit is available in various configurations, from simple chests of drawers to units with swing-out compartments, ensuring adaptability to diverse room layouts.
Customisation and Legacy
All pieces in the collection are available in a wide range of fabrics, offering countless combinations to match any interior. Meridiani’s dedication to craftsmanship and individuality ensures each item becomes a personal statement within its owner’s space.
Andrea Parisio’s designs continue to exemplify Meridiani’s commitment to merging functionality with artistic elegance, cementing its place as a leader in Italian furniture design.
