Nicholas Tan, founder of the globally recognised brand AUPEN, will make his first public art debut through the exhibition PARIS@STCLEMENTI.COM at Le Bon Marché. The showcase will run for two days, from December 13 to 14, and will mark a significant milestone in his creative evolution. Although Tan has spent years building his career across different cities, he often credits France as the place where he rediscovered himself. Consequently, the exhibition reflects his deep emotional ties to the country, blending history, style, and a sense of rebellion that shaped his artistic perspective.
Emotion, Memory and Creative Expression
The heart of the exhibition lies in Tan’s personal experiences in Paris, especially the contrast between profound love and inevitable heartbreak. As he developed the concept, he drew heavily on memories that influenced both his life and work. Moreover, this emotional journey led him to create an original song titled “Open Your Heart,” inspired by his Parisian lover and now available on Spotify. The lyrics explore a shift from restraint to openness, expressed in lines such as, “So I’ll open my heart, / Like a door left wide, / Let the rain and the sun collide,” and “And if I break, then break again / At least I’m living.” Through these words, Tan highlights a move toward vulnerability and authentic emotion, which also defines the tone of the exhibition.
Exhibition Details and Creative Significance
Although the showcase lasts only two days, it brings together different dimensions of Tan’s artistry, including music, design and emotional storytelling. Additionally, the presentation signals a broader expansion of his creative voice beyond fashion. Visitors can expect a deeply personal narrative that reflects both the intensity of his Paris years and his renewed commitment to artistic honesty. The exhibition will take place at:
