Daria Callie is a Belarusian painter who primarily works with oils. She studied a variety of visual arts, received a Bachelor of Architecture degree, and developed a strong interest in oil painting, which she now focuses on. She frequently blends the realism of the portrait with the abstract elements of the background. “In my work, I want to create a world where realism and abstraction can coexist,” says Daria Callie.
What fascinates her the most about painting a face are all the small expressions and features that convey an entire tale, emotions, and sentiments. Young women are a big part of her work because they inspire her and she sees a part of herself in them. Daria’s work has amassed a big following on Instagram, YouTube, and Patreon, where she demonstrates her abilities through lessons, time-lapses, and work-in-progress films.
She teaches oil painting classes both online and in-person, as she enjoys encouraging people’s creativity. Her art can be found in private collections all around the world, including in the United States, France, Japan, and other countries.
“I attempt to express a sense of independence and strength through the main characters in my paintings, and the abstraction surrounding them is designed to create a type of free, boundless atmosphere. I frequently employ soothing but expressive hues and color combinations to reinforce the sensations I want my art to elicit, such as a sense of tranquility, strength, awareness, and, of course, a sense of freedom” says Daria.
