Bremont has released a non-limited Terra Nova Jumping Hour in 904L steel, following the success of its limited-edition cupro-aluminium bronze model. This new iteration showcases the versatility of the Terra Nova collection, offering a robust and elegant interpretation of the historic montre à guichet (“window watch”) within Bremont’s contemporary field watch line.
The 38 mm cushion-shaped case preserves the low-profile silhouette and shortened lugs, design cues drawn from early 20th-century military pocket watches. It also presents the Jumping Hour complication in a rugged, wearable form, retaining the BC634 Jumping Hour calibre with Sellita. This movement powers separate hour and minute apertures plus a central running seconds hand, achieving an instantaneous hour jump in under 1/10th of a second. Modern finishing and materials provide a 56-hour power reserve and stable 28,800 vph operation, all housed beneath a decorated 904L steel caseback.
Design and Functionality
Aesthetically, the steel Terra Nova emphasises minimalist legibility. Linear apertures display hours and minutes with brown-printed numerals on rotating discs, while the compass-inspired black small-seconds hand evokes Bremont’s exploration heritage.
Bremont’s CEO, Davide Cerrato, stated: “We know this watch has the potential to become a future icon, standing alongside the Altitude MB. In this regard, we’re proud to introduce its second iteration, crafted in 904L steel and not limited. It’s as robust as any Bremont and makes a bold style statement.”
Availability and Pricing
The Terra Nova Jumping Hour in Steel is available on a steel bracelet for $5,100 USD and on a chocolate box-stitch leather strap for $4,800 USD. Both options are part of the standard collection and available now through Bremont.
