Nike has renamed its World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, the Philip H. Knight Campus. The change, announced by President and CEO Elliott Hill in an all-staff memo, serves as a permanent tribute to the company’s co-founder and Chairman Emeritus, recognising his vision that transformed the brand into a global symbol of sport.

Hill emphasised that the renaming is more than symbolic; it reminds every employee of the “founder’s mentality” — a spirit of being restless, bold, and driven by belief in what’s possible. The nearly 400-acre campus, which Knight helped design with an architectural style inspired by collegiate grounds, already reflects his influence.

Honoring Legendary Athletes

The campus features more than 40 buildings named after iconic Nike athletes, including Michael Jordan, Serena Williams, and LeBron James. Elliott Hill said in his announcement, “This is more than a name change. It’s a tribute to the man whose vision created a global movement. And it’s a reminder — to every one of us who will walk these paths and run these fields — of what can happen when belief meets action.”

Dedication and Legacy

The renaming to the Philip H. Knight Campus (PHK) is effective immediately, with new signage to be rolled out over the next year. Nike plans a formal dedication event in Spring 2026 to honour Knight’s enduring contributions to sport and culture. The decision solidifies his influence, cementing his name at the very center of the brand he created.
