Eric Brocherie and his artistic journey is a testament to the boundless possibilities of creative exploration. A self-taught artist, he embarked on a path initially guided by music, only to encounter the captivating world of graphic design in 1986. This serendipitous introduction opened the doors to a visual universe that would eventually lead him to the realms of art, typography, and pop culture.

Brocherie’s artistic appetite was voracious and insatiable, driven by an unquenchable curiosity about artistic and graphic culture. Between 1991 and 2018, he co-founded several design workshops, including La 5e Colonne, Shaman the graphic workshop, Franklin, and the French Title. These workshops, specializing in fashion, luxury, and feature film credits, bore testimony to Brocherie’s profound engagement with the visual arts.

A pioneer in the digital age, Brocherie participated in the dawn of the internet, organizing entirely digital artistic events such as Cybertags in 1998. His innovation extended to web design, where he crafted the first websites for pure players and renowned brands like the Cartier Foundation and Charles Jourdan.

Brocherie’s journey took an exciting turn when he entered the world of cinema. A meeting with director Cédric Klapisch marked a significant milestone in his career, resulting in his first film credits for “Everyone is looking for their cat” in 1996. This foray into cinema allowed him to fuse his passions for animated images, direction, music, and typography, primarily through the unique and multidisciplinary medium of film credits.

Since then, Brocherie has been the creative force behind credits for numerous films by directors like Jacques Audiard, Yvan Attal, Marion Vernoux, Gaspar Noé, and Eric Rochant, among others. He effortlessly balances his role as an artistic director specializing in luxury and fashion with that of a creator of film credits, a testament to his versatility and dexterity within the artistic realm.

In tandem with his career in artistic direction, Brocherie embarked on a personal artistic journey. Drawing from his extensive experience and rich visual and typographic culture, he embarked on creating digital works that reflect his unique artistic vision. Typography, movement, speed, wear, and decay are the core themes of his abstract creations, evoking a powerful emotional response to the abstract, a concept that has perpetually intrigued him.

Eric Brocherie’s artistic evolution is a fascinating fusion of music, design, typography, and cinema. His work echoes his passion for the interplay of emotion and abstraction, forging a captivating narrative through a language of visual and typographic artistry. His artistic legacy is a testament to the dynamic synergy of creativity and its ever-expanding horizons.
