Breitling has partnered with Manchester City star Erling Haaland to launch an extraordinary trio of limited-edition Chronomat watches, each featuring dials crafted from ancient Muonionalusta meteorite — a material dating back over 4.5 billion years. The result is a collection that captures both Haaland’s singular energy and the cosmos.
Cosmic Craftsmanship Meets Athletic Precision
The collaboration includes two core models:
- Chronomat Automatic GMT 40: Limited to 500 pieces, this version comes in stainless steel with a platinum bezel and a distinct meteorite dial. It features Haaland’s initials on the central seconds hand, a red-gold GMT hand, and a choice of a steel rouleaux bracelet or black rubber strap.
- Chronomat B01 42: Limited to 250 pieces, this 18k red gold chronograph features black subdials and the Breitling Manufacture Caliber 01, offering a 70-hour power reserve. The transparent caseback is engraved with “ONE OF 250” and Haaland’s number 9.
Each dial in the series is naturally unique, making no two watches alike. The stainless-steel GMT model is engraved with “ONE OF 500” and a silhouette of Haaland in his goal celebration pose, reinforcing the deeply personal theme.
Haaland’s Personal Touch
Haaland was closely involved in the design process. “I wanted something one of a kind. The Chronomat just clicked,” he said. “The meteorite makes each one different. You’re never going to see the same watch on someone else’s wrist.”
Breitling CEO Georges Kern added, “Erling plays like he’s from another planet, so when we talked about materials, a meteorite dial was the perfect fit.”
Ultra-Rare “ONE OF 5” Edition
The third piece in the series is a hyper-exclusive “ONE OF 5” edition, crafted solely for Haaland and his inner circle. It features an 18k red gold case, meteorite dial, and transparent sapphire caseback with a bespoke engraving of Haaland’s name, jersey number, and celebration pose. The watch is powered by the same Caliber 01 movement and finished with a personal case-side inscription.
All models are delivered in a custom wooden box, accompanied by a signed thank-you card from Haaland. “My eyes sparkled the moment I saw my initials on the seconds hand,” he shared.
This exclusive launch not only showcases Breitling’s dedication to craftsmanship but also marks a new chapter in athlete-driven luxury watch design.
